How Vedara calculates the Moon phase for 25 January 2027
The daily Moon page uses the same public widget engine as Vedara embeds. The phase comes from the geocentric Sun and Moon angle, while the sign, degree, nakshatra and pada come from the Moon position in the Lahiri sidereal zodiac.
For archive dates, Vedara samples the day at noon UTC. The tithi window is then built from the engine-reported next tithi change until the UTC day closes. This keeps the page reproducible for journalists and answer engines.
The sign-change line compares the Moon at the start and end of the UTC date. When the sign differs, Vedara narrows the crossing with repeated engine samples and reports the approximate UTC minute.
