How the daily timing dashboard works
The dashboard pulls today’s actual planetary positions from a live ephemeris and translates them into a simple energy score out of ten, plus four dimension scores: focus, communication, relationships, and action. It is not a horoscope written in advance; the numbers come from what the sky is doing right now, recalculated each day.
Two conditions drive most of the variation. The first is the void-of-course Moon: the stretch after the Moon makes its last major aspect in a sign and before it enters the next one. Classical astrology treats this window as poor for launching anything new, so when it is active the dashboard lowers the overall score and the focus rating. The second is retrogrades. Mercury retrograde drags down the communication score because it is the textbook period for misread emails, delays, and crossed wires. Venus retrograde softens the relationship score, and Mars retrograde cuts the action score, since both planets govern those domains when moving direct.
Reading the result is straightforward. A high overall score with strong dimension ratings means the universal weather supports steady progress: sign things, send things, start things. A low score is not a doom warning; it simply suggests pointing the day at review, planning, and routine work instead of high-stakes launches. The dimension breakdown tells you where the friction sits, so a Mercury-retrograde day can still be excellent for physical work even while contracts and negotiations deserve extra care.
One honest caveat: this score describes sky-level conditions, so it is identical for everyone on Earth today. Whether a given day is actually good for you depends on how these transits land in your own birth chart, which is the part the Vedara app calculates. Think of this page as the weather report and your chart as how your particular house handles that weather.
Frequently asked questions
- What makes a day astrologically good or bad?
- Astrologers weigh the Moon’s condition (its sign, aspects, and whether it is void of course), which planets are retrograde, and how the day’s transits relate to each other. Days with a well-aspected Moon and direct personal planets are generally considered supportive; void-of-course periods and stacked retrogrades suggest slowing down.
- What does a void-of-course Moon mean for my day?
- It is the period after the Moon’s last major aspect in a sign before it changes signs. Tradition holds that matters started during this window tend to fizzle or go nowhere, so it is better suited to routine tasks, rest, and finishing things than to launches or first meetings.
- Why is the daily score the same for everyone?
- Because it measures universal transits — the positions of the planets, which are the same worldwide. Your personal experience of the day depends on how those transits interact with your natal chart, which can amplify, mute, or even reverse the universal trend.
- Is checking daily astrology timing the same as reading a horoscope?
- Not quite. A sun-sign horoscope is written interpretation for one twelfth of the population. A timing score is computed from the actual sky on the actual date, focused on whether conditions favor action — closer to a weather report than a fortune.
